My first painting on a guitar! Inspiration for this art was lyrics from the song I posted yesterday, “Wind Beneath my Wings”, part of my learning to play guitar series (have you noticed my guitar playing is getting better? I hope so, I’m trying!). Did you guess what the design would be? “I could fly higher than an EAGLE, for you are the wind beneath my WINGS”. How many of you guessed wings, eagle, or BOTH? It’s both! Here’s the finished guitar painting:

By the way, you might remember that I started with a ukulele (bluebird painting) to prepare for painting on a guitar, and I promised a music video to go with it. I haven’t forgotten; I still plan to share the song that was the inspiration for that, but I’ve not gotten around to learning those pesky ukulele chords yet… I’m still a beginner on the guitar and I find it frustrating to start all over again with uke chords, but I’ll put my mind to it soon. If I give up in complete frustration, I’ll ask someone else to play it while I sing. But, I’ll give it more time first.
I prefer guitar though! I already love playing it! So, as much as possible, I’d like to paint on guitars… hopefully we’ll find good deals on them (buying them used to paint on, and sometimes there’s not much for sale at a bargain, so I have to be open to ukuleles, electric rather than acoustic guitars, etc.). I’ll be a good sport about whatever instrument comes my way.

You might notice the guitar isn’t in perfect condition, that’s OK, it’s all about the art! And besides, well-loved instruments often sound amazing anyway!
