New Painting – “Americana”

Watch me paint “Americana” in 2 minutes (time lapse)

This is the painting featured in my 4th of July show. If you haven’t already seen my variety show with family members as guest stars (dancing, singing, and included in the photography slideshow in the first half), here it is:

I hope that you enjoyed my holiday variety painting show. The next show will be in November. I’m already preparing for it and have ordered my next dress!

Now that the July show is over, I’ll be back to my regular schedule of painting. There are 6 paintings left for the “50 Oil Paintings Inspired by Nature” collection. Thank you to all who are sharing this journey with me, toward my lifetime goal of one THOUSAND finished oil paintings!

New Painting – Deer

Enter the serenity of this peaceful scene; overcast skies, green foliage, and a wild creature peering through a clearing in the woods. Is it early morning or is the evening dusk settling in? Can you almost smell the fresh dewy air and hear the rustle of the leaves?

Watch me paint “Deer” in 2 minutes (time lapse)

Another painting done for the 2021 collection “50 Oil Paintings Inspired by Nature“. This brings me one painting closer to my lifetime goal of 1k finished paintings!

I’m starting a new painting today that is quite a departure from animal art, but still loosely fits into the theme of “inspired by nature”. I hope to have the new one ready to share on Sunday. Tomorrow this blog will resume the series “Stories that Inspire my Art” which will run through the summer (on the days when I don’t have a new painting to share).

New Painting – Something Happy!

Watch me paint “Hedgehog” in just over a minute (time lapse)

Let this cute hedgehog lift your spirits and put a smile on your face. Sound on for full effect. The music choreographed to my paint strokes is wonderfully quirky and cheesy!

Another painting for “50 Oil Paintings Inspired by Nature” is done! I’m starting the next one today. No rest for this artist if I want to reach my lifetime goal of 1k paintings. Some paintings are intense, some are in a different style than I’m used to, and others are simply delightful.

Certain animals just look happy, don’t you think? Like the Puffin – enjoyed painting that little guy. Today, stand tall and proud like the funny puffin, or curl up cozy and relaxed like the hedgehog. This is your time! We are all part of this crazy world of nature. Savor every minute.
