Today’s practice involves the dreaded Bm chord again. So far, that’s the chord I find the most difficult to master. I’m doing an easier version and that might be all I can achieve, we’ll see how it goes. I’m improving and not having to struggle so hard to remember the chord shape, but I still stumble over it. I find it hard to go back and forth from that chord shape to the others that are closer together.
I love Casting Crown’s songs, so that makes learning much more fun than if I work on a song I don’t connect with. If you saw my latest painting on an electric guitar, the lighthouse design was inspired by the song lyrics “It once shined bright and it would be shining still”. This song and design are what my husband chose for me to incorporate into the painting I did on his guitar (I had to use acoustic though because I don’t have an electric guitar and don’t know how to play one yet anyway).
I hope you’re enjoying my series about learning to play guitar while also painting on guitars. If you are on this guitar journey with me, and like most people, are right-handed, you might find it useful that watching my left-handed playing is like having the chords mirrored in front of you while you play.
Please let me know how you’re doing. Are you enjoying learning the guitar? I love it! Embrace the adventure and practice, practice, practice!
