WW2 Veteran in Park

WW2 Veteran in Park by Natalie Buske ThomasWW2 Veteran in Park oil painting (“The Good Old Days are Gone”) October 8, 2013

“I’ve been feeling sad about the WW2 veterans who were upset about the memorial parks’ closures. I started this painting today in memory of my grandpa. The year before he died, I sang ‘Grandpa, Tell Me About the Good Old Days’ with my family and I dedicated it to him. He said, ‘The good old days are gone.’ I know, depressing to hear. Well, we can’t fix things that are out of our control, but we can still show empathy and respect when our veterans have been wronged.” – Natalie
